Information Collection and Use

2-1-1 Colorado only gathers personally identifiable data: addresses, zip codes, e-mail addresses, etc. when voluntarily submitted by a user of our site. Except as stated herein, 2-1-1 COLORADO will not disclose, sell, share, trade or rent personally identifiable data collected on this site. Personally identifiable data is collected in order to record a stated desire to donate online to 2-1-1 COLORADO via a direct gift through our website. 2-1-1 COLORADO, or a secure online merchant bank (for credit/debit cards & e-checks) for the purpose of executing the transaction, and may be used by 2-1-1 COLORADO for other internal purposes.

We will only release personally identifiable data about you, if necessary, in order to comply with valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena or court order, and 2-1-1 COLORADO reserves the right to use all information including personally identifiable data at its disposal and to share this information with ISPs and other third parties as necessary to investigate any incident of misuse or abuse of its site, server, or information systems.

Other web sites that you may link to from our site, including our partners' (business partners and partner agency) web sites, have their own privacy policies. 2-1-1 COLORADO is not responsible for the privacy practices of other web sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of web sites before providing them with any of your personally identifiable data. The information which 2-1-1 COLORADO automatically gathers, such as the numbers and frequency of visitors to our site and its areas, is used only in the aggregate; very much like television ratings that tell the networks how many people tuned in to a program. This collective data helps us determine how much our visitors use parts of the site, so that we can improve our site to assure that it is as appealing as we can make it for as many of our visitors as possible. We also may provide aggregated statistical "ratings" information, never information about you personally, to our 2-1-1 COLORADO partners about how our visitors, collectively, use 2-1-1 COLORADO.

Your Security

We take every precaution to protect the safety and security of your transaction both online and off-line. We use a high-grade encryption and the https security protocol, SSL, to communicate with your browser software. This method is the industry standard security protocol, which helps keep your personally identifiable data as secure as possible. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also protect user-information off-line. Only 2-1-1 COLORADO authorized employees are granted access to personally identifiable data. All servers that store personally identifiable data are kept in a secure environment.

Anonymous

Donors are given the opportunity to remain anonymous. The e-pledge form has an anonymous check box on the "Contribution Review" screen, so users who pledge can keep their names from being used in any future 2-1-1 COLORADO publications.

Opt-out

Donors are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their personally identifiable data used for purposes not directly related to the processing of your pledge. The e-pledge form has an 'opt-out' check-box on the "Contribution Review" screen, so users who pledge will not have any information sent to them about 2-1-1 COLORADO. This check box also prevents 2-1-1 COLORADO from sending the donor an acknowledgement of their gift. However, the donor will still receive a tax receipt in the mail from 2-1-1 COLORADO verifying the gift.

Updating Personal Information / Pledge Correction

If a donor's personally identifiable data changes or pledge information changes, please contact your County with the new information.

It may be necessary to deviate from this general policy in unique instances and for specific purposes. In such instances, a link will be provided to a description of the deviation. If we change our privacy statement, we will post those changes prominently so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone.
