Per Mike Acres, Red Cross CO-WY Disaster Cycle Services Relationship Manager:
Damage assessments are currently being conducted by the state in both
communities, and we expect to have more detailed information later this evening. Preliminary reports from emergency management indicate that 6 homes in Bennett (Adams County) and 19 homes in Elizabeth (Elbert County) were affected.
Per Colorado Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (COVOAD):
The county has officially declared a disaster area following the tornado on Sunday, May 18, 2025, which caused significant damage to approximately 21 structures with 2 known structures lost. Despite the extensive property damage, we are relieved to report that no injuries have been reported. The affected areas are currently facing considerable debris and structural damage, including instances of homes with blown-off roofs.
