Households with an income of $57,000 or less in 2022 can receive free in-person tax assistance from an IRS-certified tax preparer and file at a Colorado Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), Colorado Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE), or AARP Tax Assistance site.

My Free Taxes is a service of the United Way and is a great option if you want to file your taxes yourself. The online platform will guide you through every step and make sure you get all the cash-back tax credits you are eligible for.
You will need access to a computer and a valid email address to use My Free Taxes. The average tax return usually takes about an hour.
Snap a picture of your tax documents, upload images to the secure site, then get matched with a tax pro who will call you to file your return remotely. Great for filers who do not have access to a computer, but do have access to a smartphone.

A cash-back credit worth up to $6,935 available to working individuals and families.
Eligibility for EITC depends on several factors such as filing status, income level, the number of qualifying children in the household, and citizenship.
A Federal tax credit worth up to $2,000 for each child aged 16 and younger.
You do not need to earn a lot of money to get CTC. Parents or families can get CTC if they have earned an income of at least $2,500.
Parents may file for this credit with an ITIN number as long as the child(ren) have a Social security Number(s).

A credit worth up to $2,000 per eligible student per year, to help students pay for expenses such as tuition, books, and supplies during post-high school education.
The “Credit for Qualified Retirement Savings Contributions”, rewards employees who make contributions to a retirement plan or Individual Retirement Plan (IRA). This can be worth 10% – 50% of a maximum $2,000 contribution.
